To celebrate Armed Forces Day, the McLeod Glaziers and Meldrum Joinery & Building teams stood to attention, to take part in the Salute Our Forces initiative.
Armed Forces Week began on Monday, with different themes throughout the week.
Armed Forces Week is our chance to show our appreciation to the men and women who make up the Armed Forces community – from currently serving troops to service families, veterans, cadets and, to remember those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice.
Our family businesses have a strong personal connection to the Armed Forces.
McLeod’s hold the prestigious Gold Armed Forces Covenant and Meldrum has the Silver Armed Forces Covenant.
The Covenant is awarded to organisations that actively demonstrate a commitment to supporting the Armed Forces community. The Covenant brings together the government, businesses, local authorities, charities and the public, in order to support those who serve or who have served.
Our CEO, Derek Petterson, also served in the British Army for 7 years with the Royal Tank Regiment, completing tours of West Germany, Cyprus and Canada to name a few.
A subject with significant personal relevance, Derek, commented “I am very proud of our Armed Forces and for our team coming together to show our support and gratitude.
It was a great bit of team fun, getting everyone in line before calling out the salute – it was just like back in the old days on Parade…”
