In the first of our new series, “On the spot with…” we sat down with Mhairi, our Sales Manager to find out more about her role.

I’ve been sales manager for 11 years at McLeods
How long have you been in sales?
I’ve been in sales for 30 years – Previously I’ve worked for Vodafone, Alcatel & Scottish Communications
Favourite part of your role?
Going out to visit customers all over the Central Belt, giving advice and helping them to pick the best products and styles to complement their property
What would you say is your best trait / characteristic for your role?
Excellent knowledge of the products that we sell, great experience and most importantly I am a people person
Tell us what makes a day in the life of a McLeods Sales manager?
Visiting potential clients throughout the Central Belt, from a wide variety of properties. Working on tailoring the best quotations for my customers. Showing people around the showroom. Help customers design there dream door on our interactive door builder. Passing on orders to the admin team to initiate the ordering/production process.
I also work with Russell our installation manager to organise getting detailed measurements of clients windows or doors, for manufacturing purposes
What is McLeods best product/style and why?
Most popular is Casement Style windows in Anthracite Grey – this seems to be the in trend right now. PVC Or composite doors to match
What makes McLeods different from others?
Family run and ethos – we make it personal with each customer, they are not just a number to us – we like to go the extra mile for customers
What did you do to keep busy during Lockdown?
In my local village the community came together to clean out 20 road drains at a local heritage site to stop the village from constantly flooding
Outside of work what are your interests / hobbies?
Walking my two border terriers and looking after my cats. I like looking after my garden and socialising with friends and family
Major focus for the remainder of 2020?
Maintaining a high level of customer service to my customers and meeting internal targets
What’s the top destination on your must-visit list?
New York because my birthday trip there was cancelled due to COVID
